Nashville Zoo

My parents came in to town for Kennedy's baby blessing so we decided to have some fun and venture to the Nashville Zoo!

They had a really neat kangaroo encounter! You could walk up and touch them. Reminds me of when we visited Australia and played with the kangaroos!

Beckham loved all the fish and snakes in the exotic tanks.

We liked it so much we decided to get a year membership!

Kennedy's Baby Blessing

Today was a wonderful day. Clark blessed our baby girl Kennedy at church. Its so special and spiritual to see Clark and all the men in the family stand around and be apart of this special occasion. My family was able to come in town for the blessing so it was so fun to see them for a day! Kennedy wore the same white dress Brooklyn was blessed in. We love our growing family!

Halloween 2013

Every year our church puts on a fun trunk or treat and chili dinner. We put on our costumes and headed on over. We are new to this ward in Tennessee and were also hoping to meet some new people too! The chili was pretty good and the kids really enjoyed walking around to each car and getting candy! It sure was cold though!

Meet the cat and the mouse! Beckham's mouse costume was actually mine when I was three. My mom handmade it!

Halloween was postponed until Nov. 1st because the weather was so bad and icky. The kids obviously didn't mind. They had so much fun going to each house and knocking on the doors. The best part was this neighborhood gives out full size candy bars... YUM! Kennedy was our little skeleton this year. She is growing so fast and barely fit into her outfit. We went trick or treating with all the little cousins and that made it really fun!

Oh and our in laws live a few houses down from Gary Levox (lead singer of Rascal Flatts)..NO BIG DEAL! We def. made sure to hit up that house!

Picking Pumpkins and Pumpkinfest

Yay for cold weather and seasons! We love Tennessee so far and are enjoying the nice weather we have been given. A few weeks before Halloween we headed out to pick some pumpkins for the kids. Beckham and Brooklyn had fun finding the perfect little pumpkin they could hold. They were so cute! Kennedy had a pretty rockin time just chilling in her car seat... :)

We also have had a little more family time on the weekends since moving here. I LOVE that. We headed over to the big Pumpkinfest in Franklin. There were tons of food and boutique vendors. The kids were actually coming down with a sickness hence Beckham's facial expression but we didn't know. They seemed to have fun though! The homemade pumpkin doughnuts were pretty tasty too!

Kennedy's Newborn Pictures

Again...I decided to take it upon myself to do Kennedy's newborn pictures. I am currently at my mom's as we make our way to Nashville and I don't know of any photographers here and she is just growing so quick! My mom was nice enough to help me and I think they turned out good! Kennedy was pretty good for most of them but she was moving a lot! These were all taken in my mom's yard with props I found around her house. The crib is from when I was little.

Kennedy's Hospital Pictures

I decided to take it upon myself to take some pictures of Kennedy at the hospital since they were charging over $100 for them...I think they turned out pretty good! It is so interesting how swollen they still are a few days after they are born. It still took a few more days after we were home for the swelling to go down. By the time we left the hospital she was down to 6 lbs. At her first pediatrician appointment she was already back at 6.5!

Kennedy's Birth Story

My OB (and the best I might add) Doctor Newman and I decided to induce me on September 6th instead of having me deliver on my due date the 12th. Our family would be moving to Nashville at the end of the month and I wanted to have some time to recover before moving.

We arrived at the hospital around 7:45 am and checked in. I was given pitocin around 9 am and received my epidural around 10 am. I was slowly progressing through out the day but with constant contractions. Around 4:15pm I was feeling a little more pressure and heavier contractions so they gave me a little more of the epidural and had me sit up more in the bed. Once I sat up I went from 4cm to 9cm in 20 mins. The nurse checked me and looked at me and told me not to sneeze or laugh. She phoned my doctor and told him to hurry! Once the doctor arrived he had my mom and Clark help me push. I pushed for 5 seconds two times and grabbed her as she made her debut! I had never 'helped' deliver one of my babies so it was a really neat experience to grab her and lay her on my chest. She was so tiny and very aware of her surroundings. She only cried for a little while they cleaned her up. Kennedy is a mini Clark and Beckham but does a lot of facial expressions Brooklyn did as a baby. She loves to pucker her lips and smile after she eats.

I am so grateful everything went as planned and we have a healthy beautiful baby! She passed all her tests and we spent 2 days in the hospital before heading home. Kennedy has been such a great baby. She nurses and sleeps really well.

Her full name is Kennedy Snow Gray. Snow is a family name on Clark's side. Erastus Snow was a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the LDS church. We look forward to seeing her grow and develop each day! Beckham and Brooklyn love her and don't seem to mind that she is staying...haha.
