LDS Orlando Temple

Today, Clark and I had the opportunity to visit the LDS Orlando Temple and do a session. It has been awhile since we have gone to the temple but we are hoping to start making it a monthly trip! How lucky we are here in Tampa to only be 1.5 hours away. The spirit is so strong here and you can not but help be close to our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ. This is the first time I have been to the Orlando temple although Clark has been a lot since he lived in Orlando for some time before we met. I decided it would be nice to take some pictures since the weather was great...but HOT!

Oh Singapore

Deep down inside Clark and I still miss good ole Singapore and wish we could live there again. Oh the fun we had and the people we met...I do not think I would ever want to live there permanently but for a month or so would be fine.

I'm not quite sure if I ever posted pictures of our apartment maybe because we didn't want you to feel bad for us :) hehe anyway here was our home away from home...never would I live there again because its too small but it was good for us at the time.

Yes, this was our 400 sq. foot apartment we lived in. For the price we paid this is what you can get, but if you want to live in a bigger place you hand out the big dough. Clark and I decided we would live here and save our money so we could travel each month which we did.

Behind our apartment was a park and Clark and I enjoyed walking and running there every once in awhile.

Neighborhood Pics

I was walking the puppy the other night and decided I would take some pics of the cool things/scenery outside. Nothing special but I thought they were neat!

I swear there are at least 5 squished frogs each night on our roads...stupid frogs.

Beach Day Bums

Today Clark so generously took me to Anna Maria beach to relax for awhile. This was after we ate at Millers Dutch Kitchen in St. Pete. This is an Amish restaurant that was featured on Man vs. Food, so we had to try it. I enjoyed the turkey sandwich and potato soup while Clark chowed down the chicken & dumplings with mash.

The water was AMAZING and I think I could have stayed all day. I love how we can still go to the beach in September! These are some of the good perks of living in Florida!

Of course I'm enjoying my new book that came yesterday!

I Heart Packages

Thank you UPS for delivering my shirt from the Ann Taylor Loft!

Can you please hurry and deliver my book today as well!

I'm excited to get this book as I have loved The DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons. We are even going to read this for Book Club which I'm way excited about!
Clark took a busniess trip to his home town Chicago on Wednesday and was even able to stay with his parents over night until he had to be at his dad's work office the next morning for a presentation. I must say Clark had the easiest busniess trip imaginable for all he had to do was click the enter tab on the keyboard to move to the next slide on the computer...oh and he even got to ride to the airport in a limo! Needless to say, Clark also was able to visit Portillos for a nice drenched beef sandwich...ugh. Glad you're home hunny!

Our Baby

Our little Mac is growing up so fast! He gained a pound already since we got him a few weeks ago. He is still our little lover and wants to be with you all the time but he knows now when he is in trouble and runs from you and thinks its a game! He sleeps in the most awkward positions but its really cute. He is our little fluff ball and a great addition to our family!

Spa & Game Night

Last night for Young Women's we had a Spa & Game Night which was SO much fun! I went online to find some home made spa remedies for the girls to try. We only had a few that we willing to put the concoctions on their face!

While we waited for the face masks and exfoliates to dry we played a round of Taboo!

I must say that a lot of these home made spa remedies work, especially the Olive Oil and Brown Sugar Exfoliate. Our faces were SUPER smooth after this...haha I'll let you know if we have clogged pores tomorrow!

Here are a few that I looked up online and that we tried last night:

Face Mask

This is a soothing face mask and great if you have bananas around the house.

Ingredients:
1 banana, preferably ripe (you can keep ripe bananas in the freezer. Let it thaw before using)
1 tbsp honey
An orange or a lemon

Preparation:Mix the banana and honey together.Add a few drops of juice from an orange or a lemon. Apply to face for 15 minutes before rinsing with a cool washcloth or a steaming warm washcloth.

Natural exfoliate for all skin types
Mix a tiny amount of brown sugar with olive oil in your palm. Once it turns into a paste, massage into your face.

Chapped lips

Mix brown sugar with honey and massaging into lips. (I did this one and it tasted so good!)
Oatmeal face masks
Mix the oatmeal and an egg white. Let the mixture dry on face, then gently wash off with a few splashes of warm water. Follow with a steaming washcloth to the face.

A friend of mine uses Pepto-Bismol with oatmeal for her masks. She suggests the active ingredient (bismuth subsalicylate) in Pepto-Bismol soothes your stomach as well as your face.

Kat also tried some Lavender foot soak which smelled really good and made her feet smooth.

These little recipes were great because these are all ingredients you can find in your pantry. Also, its a good way to save money especially in this recession!

Matt's Rockband Bash

Last night we headed over to Lindsay's home to play a little Rockband with some good friends of ours. The get together was for Matt who will be heading over to Iraq to fly/fuel plans while in the AIR for over a month. Poor Sheri and Amelia :( We will have to keep his wife and little girl very occupied while he is gone! We had tons of fun playing all the instruments and trying to play together as an actual "band"! It was pretty fun how we all got intense and just stared at the screen so we didn't mess up. However, we did have a few people who got into it and could actually play and dance at the same time!
