Kennedy's Birth Story

My OB (and the best I might add) Doctor Newman and I decided to induce me on September 6th instead of having me deliver on my due date the 12th. Our family would be moving to Nashville at the end of the month and I wanted to have some time to recover before moving.

We arrived at the hospital around 7:45 am and checked in. I was given pitocin around 9 am and received my epidural around 10 am. I was slowly progressing through out the day but with constant contractions. Around 4:15pm I was feeling a little more pressure and heavier contractions so they gave me a little more of the epidural and had me sit up more in the bed. Once I sat up I went from 4cm to 9cm in 20 mins. The nurse checked me and looked at me and told me not to sneeze or laugh. She phoned my doctor and told him to hurry! Once the doctor arrived he had my mom and Clark help me push. I pushed for 5 seconds two times and grabbed her as she made her debut! I had never 'helped' deliver one of my babies so it was a really neat experience to grab her and lay her on my chest. She was so tiny and very aware of her surroundings. She only cried for a little while they cleaned her up. Kennedy is a mini Clark and Beckham but does a lot of facial expressions Brooklyn did as a baby. She loves to pucker her lips and smile after she eats.

I am so grateful everything went as planned and we have a healthy beautiful baby! She passed all her tests and we spent 2 days in the hospital before heading home. Kennedy has been such a great baby. She nurses and sleeps really well.

Her full name is Kennedy Snow Gray. Snow is a family name on Clark's side. Erastus Snow was a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the LDS church. We look forward to seeing her grow and develop each day! Beckham and Brooklyn love her and don't seem to mind that she is staying...haha.
