Spa & Game Night

Last night for Young Women's we had a Spa & Game Night which was SO much fun! I went online to find some home made spa remedies for the girls to try. We only had a few that we willing to put the concoctions on their face!

While we waited for the face masks and exfoliates to dry we played a round of Taboo!

I must say that a lot of these home made spa remedies work, especially the Olive Oil and Brown Sugar Exfoliate. Our faces were SUPER smooth after this...haha I'll let you know if we have clogged pores tomorrow!

Here are a few that I looked up online and that we tried last night:

Face Mask

This is a soothing face mask and great if you have bananas around the house.

Ingredients:
1 banana, preferably ripe (you can keep ripe bananas in the freezer. Let it thaw before using)
1 tbsp honey
An orange or a lemon

Preparation:Mix the banana and honey together.Add a few drops of juice from an orange or a lemon. Apply to face for 15 minutes before rinsing with a cool washcloth or a steaming warm washcloth.

Natural exfoliate for all skin types
Mix a tiny amount of brown sugar with olive oil in your palm. Once it turns into a paste, massage into your face.

Chapped lips

Mix brown sugar with honey and massaging into lips. (I did this one and it tasted so good!)
Oatmeal face masks
Mix the oatmeal and an egg white. Let the mixture dry on face, then gently wash off with a few splashes of warm water. Follow with a steaming washcloth to the face.

A friend of mine uses Pepto-Bismol with oatmeal for her masks. She suggests the active ingredient (bismuth subsalicylate) in Pepto-Bismol soothes your stomach as well as your face.

Kat also tried some Lavender foot soak which smelled really good and made her feet smooth.

These little recipes were great because these are all ingredients you can find in your pantry. Also, its a good way to save money especially in this recession!
