Night Festival

Last night Clark and I went to the Night Festival again. The festival went on every Friday and Saturday night for the past two weeks, and the great part was it was free!! We walked around the museum green where "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" was playing and then we headed inside the museum to see what new exhibits there were. ISEA 2008 was the new exhibit and it was all electronic based.

We look hot!
Can you see me?

Would you like a puppet show boys and girls?

Then we went outside the National Singapore Museum and watched as The Electric Canvas group put colorful lights on the building! It was realllllly neat!

Time for Some Campaignin'

Now, I would love to indulge all of you in a little politicking with a 'Clark Pow Wow' and say why one should be or should not be the President but I have never been one to flaunt my own political views in such a public forum (even though this is my blog...wait, it is Jenna's Blog and she just lets me be apart of it). I feel that when discussions take place in a forum to where only one side is given, it is often slanted so bad that it creates a worthless piece of journalism. Regardless, I hope you enjoy the video from JibJab...I sure did.

Night Festival & Sentosa Beach

Last night Clark and I were invited to the Singapore Night Festival by our friends Chelsea and Dixon. The festival was so entertaining! The shows they put on were a mix of acrobatics, cirque du soleil, and dancing. There were people and props flying all over the place. We saw a really neat water show and fire dance too. Next we went inside the National Singapore Museum and looked around at all the artsy stuff. The museum was open that night until 2am and was free!! woo hoo! Today we went to Sentosa Beach with our friend Stuart and we had loads of fun and took some neat pictures. I enjoyed today because it was a total chill day and it felt so good because I have been working long hours at work...well it seems long to me compared to what I worked back in the states. I also got my hair cut and it only cost me $10 Singapore dollars, which would be like $8 or so American dollars! Sweet! You'll see my haircut later on in other posts! I think it is CUTE! Well, it is late here and church is tomorrow! I hope you enjoy the pictures! There are more to come though! Goodnight!

Our New Home

Well we did it! We moved yet again...not across the country, but to a 450 sq. ft. condo in Singapore. We are renting this condo from a sweet lady named Ms. Wong. Clark promised me that we could go to Ikea if I lived in the condo and so last night we made a trip to Ikea and bought the necessary things for our place. Man, I hate buying new towels, rugs, cleaning materials, iron, ironing board, bedding, and so forth because when we leave we will just have to give this stuff away...what a waste of $150. I unpacked my clothes today and Clark still needs to unpack his...we have been living out of our suitcase since we have been here because we were so lazy to hang our clothes up in the hotel we were at. We still need to get some small table/stands for the bathroom and a nice looking chair for our bedroom. Anyway, Clark and I found that there is a park right outside our condo which is nice because there is a running trail and a work out area. The place has no pool or workout room so I will slowly lose my tan :( and will hopefully not gain weight! Here are some pics from our walk in the park and a picture of our condo building...it is not much people...just a warning.

I'm a working woman!!

The day finally came when I could no longer sit by the pool and do nothing. I was offered a job as a Marketing Associate at a hedge fund here in Singapore. The company is called 3 Degrees Asset Management and they specialize in Debt Distressed companies. I originally went into the interview for the personal assistant to the CEO position but Moe, the CEO, said I would be better suited as a Marketing Associate! My first day was last Fridayand I already really like this company! I am still learning all the finance terms and Clark has been really helpful teaching me stuff. I guess I'll have to watch finance shows to get down all this lingo. I think I'm working at Clark's dream company!! The job pays really well and has some good perks too...we own a hotel in Bintan and from time to time Moe lets employees stay there for free :) Yesterday I was sent off to a photoshoot because my picture and bio are going to be posted on our website :) It was so fun to get my make up and hair done. I even purchased my first business suit for this occasion! I am sorry if my posting slows down...I'm a working woman now!!!! Here is the website if you are interested http://www.3degrees.com.sg/ .

Happy Birthday to my Best Friend!

I just wanted to wish my best friend Kate a HAPPY 21ST BIRTHDAY! How exciting! I miss her so much! We have known each other since we were little but never hung out until we made the volleyball team freshman year in highschool. Our team called us the married couple because we would get on each other's nerves! How funny!! She probably won't read this but oh well!

4th of July Singapore Style

Today Clark and I headed to the Military Base here in Singapore and enjoyed a nice 4th of July party! The party was put together so well! I don't think we had seen so much western food here in Singapore since we got here! We chowed down hamburgers, kabobs, pork sandwiches, and even Ben and Jerry's Ice cream! There was a band playing in the background and tons of people dancing on the dance floor. The kids enjoyed the many activities the party had set up .....face painting, water dunking booth, trampoline bungee rope, moon bounces...and much more! Then my most favorite part...FIREWORKS! I swear they were setting them off 200 yards from us...debris even fell on our table but that is besides the point! At that moment I felt like I was back at home in the U.S. I am so grateful that the military puts this party on every year. A U.S air force jet, flying all the way from Japan, was supposed to fly over us but it never happened...wonder why? So, tonight Clark and I were able to celebrate our country's freedom and have a wonderful lifetime memory!
